How can I help?

There are many ways you can help make Charlottesville edible through FRESHCville:

1. You can plant your own FRESHCville garden in your yard. The site you choose in your yard should be easily visible and accessible to people passing by your home. Let us know when it is ready and we will supply a FRESHCville sign for your garden and add it to our list of locations.
*To become a FRESHCville site, you must grow organic fruits or vegetables without the use of synthetic fertilizers, pesticides, herbicides, or fungicides.

2. You can volunteer to help with upkeep and watering of FRESHCville gardens. As we grow our sites we will need a lot of help with planting, weeding, watering, etc. We will take whatever time you can commit. You can also volunteer to “Adopt” an existing site, were you are the lead to keep the garden going.

3. You can donate! We need land to plant FRESHCville gardens. If you own or know of any unused, easily accessible land please let us know. We can also accept donations of gardening tools, soil, raised bed timber, and seeds. After we get our 501(c)(3) approved we will also be able to accept monetary donations.
